As members of the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals (WALP), we are proud to provide the best service available.
Taking the time to find a reputable landscape contractor assures that you will get quality work for a fair price. WALP offers these tips when choosing a contractor:
~For your protection, hire only licensed contractors that carry workmens' compensation and liability insurance.
~Determine your budget and discuss it with your contractor.
~Decide what types of work you will need and prioritize.
~An estimate is a good guess of project costs. For a firm price, a contractor will need a design. This takes time and expertise, regardless of the size of the project. You should expect to pay for design services in addition to the construction work.
~Meet with prospective contractors, review their portfolios, and check with their references.
~Get bids in writing and ask questions to be sure you understand all the materials, equipment, personnel and time needed.
~Read your contract carefully. Contracts should specifiy what work will be done, the charges, time frame for project completion, and payment requirements including downpayments and payment schedules.
